Gilbreath Communications, Inc. recently completed a
disaster preparedness video for the City of Houston
Department of Public Safety and Homeland Security. The
15-minute video informs Houston-area residents how to
prepare for potential disasters ranging from hurricanes
to terrorist attacks. The video, called "Are You
Ready?", emphasizes three key points: Make a Plan,
Build a Kit and Stay Informed.
"Are You Ready?" is free to residents in
the Houston region and is available in English, Spanish,
Vietnamese and Chinese, each with subtitles for the
hearing impaired. Gilbreath also created the logo, Web
site, and a series of PSAs to round out the campaign.
The video was launched at a press conference on June
6, 2008 by U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary
Michael Chertoff and other local officials.The City
of Houston has reported more than 15,000 copies of the
video distributed within the first few months of its
release.
